Finding Fun and Serenity in the Salt Room

TGIF! Hope you all are having a fabulous Friday! With the holiday being smack dab in the middle of the week, this has seemed like the longest week EVER!

I want to share with you about my experience at the Breathe Easy Salt Room in Murfreesboro.
I have been to a salt cave a handful of times now, each have been very pleasant. However, today I did it with a sweet little toddler in tow.

If you have never heard of a salt cave or salt room, let me quickly tell you the jest of what it is. Halotherapy is an alternative treatment that involves breathing salty air. There are different kinds of rooms available, one for ages 16 and over which is a salt-lined room or "cave" with salt lining the walls and sprinkled over the floors. You lay back, relax and breathe in the salt particles. The kids room or family room, is filled with a salty floor where the adults can relax while the kids play, but again you are breathing in the salt particles throughout the air. Halotherapy is known to help many respiratory conditions, allergies and sinus problems. You can also use the therapeutic graded salt for your skin conditions.

Ellie stays at home with me or my parents, she doesn't attend daycare. So I am always looking for things to do to get her out of the house. After attending a salt session for myself a few weeks ago, I spotted this little family room and thought this would be something affordable, beneficial and fun for us.

We went in for a 50 minute session today. Only $7 per person, you can't beat the price! At first, Ellie was very hesitant of the salt on her feet, much like she is at the beach in the sand. But she quickly warmed up and by the end was digging her little toes in, throwing salt all around her and having a wonderful time! They have lots of beach toys for the little ones to play with, and relaxing chairs for the adults to kick back in. I highly recommend this as a weekly venture with your kids! It is a safe environment, free of bacteria and germs, and I don't have to worry about chasing Ellie or fearing for her to get hurt like at the park or other play areas. This is a win-win for momma and the kiddos!

If you are local to Murfreesboro, please give this a try! Take the kids for some fun play time, or enjoy some mommy (or daddy) quiet time in the adult room! Cara and her husband (the owners) are two of the nicest, friendliest people you will meet! They would love to help you book your session or you can book online anytime!
